Q-PHASE in the Max Planck Institute of Molecular Cell Biology and Genetics

Sep/06/2016
In order to satisfy growing customer demands, TESCAN contributes not only by carrying out its own scientific research activity and related manufacturing operations, but also by establishing synergic collaborations with leading scientific institutions.

The Max Planck Society is the Germany's most successful research organization. In August 2016, the Q-PHASE, multimodal holographic microscope was installed in the Light Microscopy Facility (LMF) in the Max Planck Institute of Molecular Cell Biology and Genetics in Dresden

The mission of the LMF, led by Jan Peychl, is to provide access to state-of-the-art light microscopy techniques and instruments along with vision toward future trends. The Q-PHASE microscope will be used to detect physical changes of cells with unmatched clarity and without any labelling. A unique patented concept of QPI, allows to clearly detect cellular boundaries and mass changes inside the cells.
