Migrastatics-inventor presented with the Czech Head award

Nov/28/2019
Congratulations to Dr. Jan Brábek from Faculty of Science, Charles University who has been recently recognized with the national award Česká Hlava 2019 (The Czech Head Award) for defining a new category of anticancer drugs, migrastatics.
Dr. Brábek successfully used the TELIGHT Q-Phase holographic microscope for unique observation of tumor cell invasiveness mechanisms in collagen gel environments, where other microscopic methods do not allow to detect such details.

The cytostatics currently used are mainly aimed at suppressing the growth and division of tumor cells, whereas migrastatics should prevent their metastasis in the future. (Learn more in the Nature article published in 2018)

The Česká Hlava award has been regularly presented since 2002 and is the highest prize for authors of Czech discoveries, patents, and new technologies.
